I’ve always wanted to show Keen’s mom as being the closet brains in the family, and this seemed to be as good an opportunity as any. Plus, I didn’t want this “family” series to drag on for any longer than necessary, so I was looking for a way to wrap things up quickly. I actually still have a couple of follow-ups that involve the family, but this at least brings Mort’s plans for global destruction to a close. Although, he does get a pretty great consolation prize in my opinion.
